Wristbands
For learners who get their left and right mixed up, these handy wristbands are a visual reminder of hand, and finger number.
Red for right, lilac for left, they come in a range of sizes from adult to child.
Bookmark
Why does moving right along the keyboard mean you are going 'up' in pitch, while moving left means you are going 'down'?
If this is something that confuses your students, this bookmark might help them understand this
directionality. They can hook it on each page, to keep it in sight throughout the lesson.
The Keyboard Game
This board game adds a fun twist to reviewing content learned in the main tutor book, as well as developing musicianship.
The game board comes with two wooden counters and a large wooden die, as well as 40 task cards, with a choice of activities to allow for differentiation.
The tasks include aural, sight-reading, rhythm, reading, and notation writing activities.
There is also the opportunity for learners to 'Test The Teacher' - and which student doesn't love that?!
Flashcards
Book 1 features 112 flashcards to support the learning of signs, symbols and definitions.
You can play games with them in your lessons, or students can check their own learning.
They are all cross-referenced in the books, for ease of use throughout the programme.
The Bar Isolator
This simple and ingenious device
allows students to see just one or two bars of music at a time. This lets them focus on getting that right, and building up their confidence before adding some more bars.
Sometimes it is helpful to start at the end of the piece and work backwards, or to focus on a tricky bar in the middle.
The bar isolator is ultimately flexible to allow whatever practice pattern suits your learners best. Simply place the back sheet behind the page, and
position the shutters so that only the
required bars are visible.
